October 2025

·2 mins

My October update is because I was on a much needed vacation that started at the end of the month and ended in early November. I’ll post about it next month.

  • We went to Mox Boarding house one Saturday night. It’s a board game cafe/bar, where we met some friends. I watched my first Magic: The Gathering Commander game. The game seems pretty cool, but like a lot of board games it’s not exactly my cup of tea.
  • The Seattle Mariners were playing baseball in October! We don’t ordinarily watch baseball, but it was fun rooting the M’s on.
  • Rehearsals continued for Rainbow City Concert band. I am having a great time playing every week.
  • There’s a setback with my shoulder injury. In early October, I had promising recovery but it’s been re-aggravated.
  • My not-very-aggressive experiment cutting calories concluded with a 2% body fat drop. I’m glad I tried it, but I don’t think I’ll try that again. It was too much for me to track.
  • Our search for a house/condo/townhouse/whatever continued. We saw a few great units, but didn’t make any offers. I’m hopeful for a change in November!
  • We watched Arturo Sandoval and his band perform at Jazz Alley. It was an amazing night!
  • I read several books this month: Children of Time, Altered Carbon, and A Memory Called Empire. Children of Time was by far my favorite, but all 3 were really fun reads.
