temaki sushi!

June was a month with ups and downs: we celebrated 14 years of marriage and my employer laid off ~17% of employees. I’m still there, but I had to say goodbye to a lot of great colleagues and friends.

June’s other notables:

  • I rewatched a few episodes of Lost from every season. We also started watching Chicago Fire.
  • We bought and finished assembling Lego’s Planet Earth and Moon in Orbit set.
  • We watched AEW’s Forbidden Door Pay-Per-View show at a professional wrestling themed bar called Lariat. It was a ton of fun!
  • Our big anniversary dinner was at Wa’z Seattle. We tried Temaki sushi for the first time at Sushi Nori and we tried Skalka, a Georgian restaurant.
  • I stopped triathlon training, but kept weight training. I am unable to go to the SeaFair tri this year because of a work conflict. It’s a bummer, but I’ll look for another one that’s in the fall somewhere. Since I won’t need a pool any time soon, I’m going to move to another gym in July. If I need to do some training for swimming, I’ll try open water.
  • I finished reading The China Study and The Engineering Executive’s Primer. I started reading Walking a Golden Mile.
